Gitzo GT3541LS Series 3 Systematic. Long 4-section carbon fibre tripod. The Gitzo GT3541LS is a medium-sized tripod suitable for both professional and advanced amateur photography. The 4-section long 6X carbon fibre legs extend the tripod to a maximum height of 143cm and the legs can be adjusted out to almost flat, allowing very low viewpoint shots. The legs have standard 3/8 inch threaded sockets for the attachment of a variety of different feet such as spikes and snow/sand shoes (standard rubber feet are fitted).

The Systematic top plate is removable allowing a centre column, a levelling mount or a half-ball system to be used. The top plate has a ballast hook underneath to allow a camera bag or other weight to be added for improved stability.

The tripod is supplied with a Gitzo dust bag, set of tools and a manual. The tripod has been stripped down and thoroughly cleaned, including the insides of the leg sections and the leg end stops/sliders.

The twist locks have all been degreased then ultrasonically cleaned before being re-greased. Leg operation is now smooth and slick. Some small areas of worn paint on the edges of the leg locks have been retouched, and a few small paint chips have also been restored on the centre boss. I have retouched some scratching on the labels to improve the general appearance.

The rubber grips have all been cleaned and finally the whole tripod has been given a protective silicone polish. There is a little remaining wear to the paintwork on edges (see photos) and there is some light scratching of the carbon fibre which normally happens through use, but this is not significant.
